It’s the holiday season! Go and make the best of it. The end of the year is full of events and happenings that can be exciting and thrilling. Of course, these can also be emotionally draining. That is because every time we interact with the world there is a risk of being annoyed or irritated, but life would be quite dull and uninteresting if we tried to avoid all discomforts. We always have the power to reframe what we’re experiencing by focusing on the positives of the situation. Think of the holiday classic, It’s a Wonderful Life (1946), where a suicidal man eventually discovers that he is the most fortunate man alive.
Life Lesson: Be grateful for your life; it beats the alternative.

Changing our perspective allows us to appreciate and feel grateful for our unique and imperfect lives. So make it a game. See how many experiences you can enjoy while spending the holiday season being adventurous and daring. Challenge yourself to be more noble and kind by seeing the good in others, which is the lesson from the 1947 classic, Miracle on 34th Street. After all, this is a time to grow your heart three times larger, as Dr. Seuss’ famous grinch from the animated How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966) does. This, of course, is the true meaning of Christmas, and you won’t find a more heart-warming movie about it than Klaus (2019).
Life Lesson: Believe in the goodness of other people.

But if socializing with others becomes unbearable, then politely excuse yourself from the formal festivities and recharge at home with some movie therapy by watching one of the great holiday classics, like the Bill Murray jewel, Scrooged (1988), which ends with a lively rendition of Jackie DeShannon’s classic song—and timeless message—"Put a Little Love in Your Heart.”
Life Lesson: “Put a little love in your heart, and the world will be a better place.”
— Jackie DeShannon

Also make your home atmosphere special by celebrating the season with great music, great food, and great stories. Although it’s true that the sorrows of life never cease, if you’ve found a way to be cozy, safe, and warm—then rejoice! That’s the perfect place to watch the comedic struggles of a boy pining for the greatest Christmas gift in A Christmas Story (1983). This is one of the best feel-good holiday movies around because it lets us reminisce about, and be enchanted by, the magic of childhood during the holidays. That joy is what this season is all about.
Life Lesson: Life delivers both disappointments and unexpected joys.
