Love this post--and I'm sure you must know that Tennessee Williams in _A Streetcar Named Desire_ also loved that Blake quote: "'Don't you just love those long rainy afternoons in New Orleans when an hour isn't just an hour - but a little piece of eternity ..." xo Mary

I will have to add the film adaptation of the play, " A Streetcar Named Desire" to "moviewise." Thanks for making the connection to the poem by Blake. It's so clear in both meaning and sentiment what he means by "a little piece of eternity," and it's so profoundly beautiful! Thank you!

Great insight on these - I do like the message you're conveying as well, and I still need to see Dead Poets Society!

Thank you so much Patrick! Dead Poets Society (1989) is a truly special, perfect movie. It's a gift! Would love it if you saw it and wrote a "Guest Post" about what honestly is one of the best, most powerful movies I've ever seen.

Agreed, Dead Poets Society is powerful, lyrical, timeless. When I read its screenplay, tears came to my eyes.

100% agree! It's an incredible movie. Would you like to write a Guest Post about it? Patrick and you can both be included in the same post. It would be nice to read two writers' take on the same movie! Here is more info about writing a Guest Post:

If you ever feel up to it, anytime is fine. There are no deadlines. And any movie is fine, too πŸ€—
