Off-topic, of course, but FIFTY FIRST DATES, with the heroine's anterograde amnesia, immediately brings to mind MEMENTO, the Christopher Nolan film based on the story, "Memento Mori," by his brother, Jonathan.
Yes, "Memento" is an amazing, incredible film, and I did consider it for the above essay, but it didn't quite fit with the theme of the rest of the movies discussed. It definitely deserves its own page, and it would be great if you would consider writing about it as a "Guest Post" for "moviewise." Here is some information about it:
