"And tell the truth to everyone, whenever you can." And. "Please, dear reader, don’t ever let anyone imply that you need to give up your career aspirations, your goals, your dreams, your life—to meet someone else’s arbitrary demands." These are my favorite pull quotes from your posts. Thanks pointing them out, and/or writing them! It's powerful stuff, and nice to see spotlights shine on helpful ideas and information...!

Thanks Patrick! I like the take from Emily Dickinson: “Tell all the truth but tell it slant […]

The Truth must dazzle gradually or every man be blind”

Wow. You slammed Yesterday.... makes me definitely NOT want to watch it! It's funny that the movie apparently talks about the value of telling the truth, yet the movie itself doesn't do that. Completely agree with you that love is supportive of a partner's dreams, not destructive.

Yes, it's a very inconsistent movie. I don't want to write critically of movies, that's not what this site is about. But, unfortunately this is the first negative review because the messages this movie unintentionally sends are pretty toxic to forming good relationships with others. It definitely does not model kindness towards other people. Thanks for reading!

Ok so here's the test: better or worse than 2007's Across the Universe AKA the last time we tried to cash in on the Beatles catalogue?

Huh. I'll have to add it to the queue to know for sure, but "Across the Universe" seems more weighty, at least. The current documentary by Peter Jackson, "The Beatles: Get Back" is almost unwatchable, unfortunately. It's not really a film, just access to a nearly unedited archive lasting almost 8 hours of the band rehearsing badly in an uncomfortable space, and unsurprisingly, getting annoyed with each other. It offers no real insight or context, and it feels intrusive. My guess is that the best Beatles movie is "A Hard Day's Night" (1964), or it hasn't been made yet.

Yea I’ve heard that about the new documentary. I’d say you’re right, the best Beatles movie was…made with the Beatles!
