The two funniest movies on my short list are "Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" and "What's Up, Doc?" I've seen 'Mad' so many times I don't hold my sides laughing anymore, hoping I won't split a gut, but it's still hilarious. Every time.
I saw 'Ratatouille' but don't remember much about it. It wasn't on my 'hilarious' radar. Neither, I'm afraid, were any of the others on your list.
I loved "The Princess Bride" for its humor as much as its humanity and can quote the funny parts on demand.
I can't agree that the funniest things are forbidden, but I have laughed out loud at many of Mark Twain's stories.
Ratatouille is my favorite movie of all time! I've probably watched it a dozen times. Love, love, love it!

But then I'm old...
Excellent article. You did a lot of research. "Humor is laughing at yourself, while pointing at another". Peace!
